Our Junior High Youth Group includes 6th-8th graders. The primary ministry for junior high students at Christ Lutheran is our confirmation program where we come together for learning, fun, friendship, and service.
Sunday mornings we gather in small groups at 9:15 a.m. in the Junior High Youth Rooms (upstairs rooms 216A and 216B). This gathering time is led by caring adults who want to help our junior high students grow intellectually and emotionally in their faith and find how each student can most authentically be a part of the Body of Christ. This time is divided into a topical lesson utilizing scripture, open discussion, a related activity or game, and our Confirmation Talksheets which encourage critical reflection and conversation around the week’s theme. Confirmation also meets in large group on four to five Wednesday evenings throughout the year.
The Junior High Youth Group also meets regularly on Wednesday nights for The Outlet (5th through 8th grade, 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.) and Gloria Choir (5th through 8th grade, 6:15 to 7:00 p.m.) when not in Confirmation Class. Read more about Gloria Choir on our Music Ministry Page.
Always be sure to check The Proclaimer newsletter for upcoming special event opportunities for Jr. High as well.
In the summer, youth are encouraged to attend Cross Trails summer camp together for more opportunities to learn what it means to be Lutheran and have fun outdoors.
All youth, regardless of creed or church membership, are invited to join in! Contact our Director of Faith Formation, Carrie Jowers, for more information.
