Our Senior High Youth Group consists of high school students in the 9th through 12th grades. We meet at church on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for Bible study, food, and fellowship. Led by caring adults, our high school students learn about topics of interest to them in an open discussion format that encourages critical reflection on our students’ faith and the practices of our communities. We hope to help our students build some sense of their own identity in a way that is influenced by Lutheran themes and an awareness of our world’s need for the love of God. We do this by digging into the Bible, sharing in fellowship time, and like Jesus in the Gospel of Luke, by eating!
Our High School Youth Group also meets on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in the Senior High Youth Room. Refer to The Proclaimer newsletter to keep informed of important dates.
Every summer our high school students also travel for a week on a trip that challenges them to deepen their faith by serving our brothers and sisters in need. Of course, we have a ton of fun along the way as well.
National Youth Gathering! Once every three years the national Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) hosts the largest youth gathering in the nation. This five-day experience includes worship, service, fun, learning, travel and group bonding.
All students, regardless of creed or church membership, are invited to join in! Contact our Director of Faith Formation, Carrie Jowers, for more information.
