Music Ministry

Music Ministry

Christ Lutheran Church is recognized for its dynamic and engaging music ministry.  Music Ministry at Christ Lutheran Church is centered around Sunday morning worship, but we also offer various concerts throughout the year.  We are blessed to be able to have a wide range of opportunities in which musicians of varied backgrounds and all ages and experience can serve.  Adult choir members are led by Dr. Daniel Long, our choir director, and accompanied by Bill Ross, our organist and pianist. If you would like to offer your talents through individual music selections, please contact the church office.

Sanctuary Choir (Adult Choir)
Tired of singing in the shower?  Do certain hymns make you cry with delight or sentimentality?  Come join the CLC choir.  We are just a big old dinner group without the dinner (although, we do get spoiled with frequent homemade sweets!!)   All are welcome!! The Christ Lutheran Sanctuary Choir sings for the 10:30 a.m. service each Sunday and at the 8:00 a.m. service once a month.  Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. For more information, please contact Daniel Long at the church office.

5:30 p.m. Wednesdays (kindergarten through 4th grade)

Gloria Choir

6:15 p.m. Wednesdays (5th through 8th grade)

The children learn introits, processional hymns, anthems, and benedictions, all in the cathedral style.  Rehearsals are fast paced and energetic.  The children look forward to their role of participation in worship once a month, and they form friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

Karli Anderson directs our Angelicus and Gloria Choirs! Karli, a native Californian, moved to Texas to pursue her graduate studies in choral conducting at UTSA. She received her undergraduate degree in musical studies with a concentration in choral conducting from Oberlin College in Ohio where she also served as Assistant Conductor for the Women’s Chorale. For the last four summers, Karli has worked at the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp for 3rd graders through high schoolers. She has participated in a variety of choirs and ensembles and grew up helping to lead music in her home church. We are blessed to have her working with our children and youth!
